Welcome to the Charles Pankow Oral History Project
a part of
The Charles Pankow Legacy Project

The Charles Pankow Foundation, in conjunction with Purdue University Archives and Special Collections, invites you to learn more about the life and work of Purdue alumnus Charles Pankow.

Funded by the Foundation, the Charles Pankow Oral History Project documents the achievements of Mr. Pankow in the words of friends and colleagues. Through a series of interviews, navigate the challenges, innovations, and personalities that made the Pankow Companies a success. This site includes 35 recorded and transcribed interviews along with biographies of Charles Pankow and his associates. Take time to learn about the Foundation and Companies through historical retrospectives.

Along with the online collection, additional aspects of the Charles Pankow Legacy Project are available through Purdue University. Archives and Special Collections has available a collection of documents and artifacts; Purdue University Press has published a book, A Better Way to Build: The History of the Pankow Companies, a comprehensive narrative of Charles Pankow and his life's work. Visit the 'Purdue University' segment of the site to learn more.
